Frequently asked questions
For any question not covered here, the office can be reached on WhatsApp or by phone.
-
What is the difference between an official and a standard translation?
An official translation is produced by a sworn translator-interpreter accredited by the Ministry of Justice and bears her stamp and signature. It is accepted by administrations and courts in Algeria, and can be used abroad once the required legalization formalities have been completed. A standard translation has no such standing.
-
Can I send my documents without coming to the office?
Yes. Upload a clear copy on the request page or send it on WhatsApp; we review it and give you the timing and cost. Depending on the document, we may ask to see the original when you collect it.
Request a translation -
How long does a translation take?
It depends on the page count and the type of document. Short administrative papers are usually quick; we give you the exact delivery date when we review your request, with an urgent option if needed.
-
How is the price calculated?
By document type, number of pages, language and urgency. You receive the quote before we start, and we only begin with your approval.
-
Are my documents safe?
Yes. The official translator is bound by professional secrecy; files uploaded through the site are kept in a private space only the office can access, and are deleted automatically once a set period has passed after delivery of the translation or cancellation of the request.
Privacy -
Do you translate old and handwritten deeds?
Yes, including old title deeds and sharia-court deeds. We read the document carefully and flag any illegible passage before translating.
-
What is legalization and when do I need it?
Legalization is how the competent authorities confirm the official translator’s signature. It is usually needed for documents going abroad: it is done by the legalization services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and some countries also require legalization by their embassy or consulate. We explain the whole procedure before we start.

How do I follow my request or appointment?
You receive a reference number when you send a request or book an appointment. Enter it on the “Track” page with the last four digits of your phone to see the latest status recorded by the office.
